| The Watts family has been growing grapes for four generations. Our vineyards enjoy a unique microclimate near the Mokelumne River. With a dedication to quality, and a lot of hard work, we built a reputation for producing some of the finest grapes in the California wine industry. Our first wine was a 1999 Old Vine Zinfandel. Today we offer many different varietals of award winning wine. We hope you enjoy drinking Watts wine as much as we enjoy making it. Why is there an iris on the label? We adopted the iris as our unique symbol to represent the Watts Winery. Janet Watts, a well-known floral designer (as well as the winemaker’s mother), has planted over 600 varieties of iris as ground cover for the vines at our Iris Vineyard. Legend has it that the beauty of the flowers can be tasted in the wine. | |||||||
